Garage Doors
When a hurricane strikes, a garage door rated for high winds offers significantly greater protection than a standard door. Because the garage door is typically the largest opening in your home, its failure can create a dangerous situation. If the door collapses or is blown out, the sudden influx of hurricane-force winds into your garage can generate immense upward pressure, potentially tearing off your roof.
This happens because the trapped air inside rapidly transforms into a hurricane-like environment. Roofs are often not designed to withstand this powerful uplift. Building codes for garage doors vary across Brevard and Indian River Counties.
We’re here to clarify the specific requirements for your area and guide you to the right hurricane-rated garage door to meet those codes and safeguard your home.
Garage Door Openers
Island Doors Inc. is proud to sell and install openers from companies that set the industry standard for security, safety and convenience. For their continued reliability, we offer two top-of-the line brands of garage door openers, Genie® and LiftMaster®. You can choose a popular unit, like the Genie® PMX 500, which offers a quiet motor and a great warranty, or you may prefer a deluxe model like the LiftMaster® 3850, which offers a battery back-up option for power outages.
No matter which opener you choose, one of the most important considerations is the warranty. While all openers we install come with warranties, they differ in terms of what is covered and length of coverage.
We provide 2 remotes with all of our openers at no extra charge. Optional keyless entries are also available for purchase with all openers.
